The Person Specific Dose (PSD)
An Introduction to
“Finding the Sweet Spot”
with Herbal Low/Drop Dosing
with New Zealand herbalist Rixt Botello
In-person Saturday May 2nd, 10 AM – 4:30 PM in Erie PA
Finding the “sweet spot” of an herbal dose is both an art and a science.
This workshop will explore the concept of Person-Specific Dosing (PSD) and the factors that influence it, including specific herbs and their active constituents, client and environmental factors, the applied dosage as well as each herbalist’s approach and experience.
Participants will learn how the lowest essential dose can often achieve the most effective results, restoring balance and harmony holistically.
Bringing an international perspective to posology (the study of dosing), attendees will explore the principles behind finding the PSD. The day will interactively move through multiple topics: case studies demonstrating successful low-dose applications, hands-on work with dried herbs and tinctures, demonstrations making personalized tonics as well as exercises with small doses of a "hydro-alcoholic extracts” (tinctures).
By the end of the day, participants will have gained a deeper understanding of how to nudge, push, or kick a dose to achieve optimal therapeutic results tailored to each individual.
Rixt’s book, “Low Dosing Methodology in Herbal Medicine - History, Philosophy and Application” will be available to participants with a $30 discount.
This will be a small workshop. Email Leslie with questions and to reserve your place.
